Preparing for Tryouts?  (August 18th - 22nd)

Choose one smooth dance (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango)  and one rhythm (Swing, Salsa, Rumba, ChaCha).  Be able to dance basic and at least one other move.  Demonstrate accurate timing to music, good dance frame,  posture, confidence & style.

Commitment Agreement and Fees

 

 Attendance in technique, conditioning and choreography classes is required.   Dancers are allowed 2 excused absences (notification 24 hours in advance) and 2 sick days.

  Dancers are required to arrange his or her own transportation to and from performances. RFDC is not liable for injuries that may occur, or for property lost, stolen, or damaged at or en route to or from a performance/competition. 

 

  Total Fall Semester class fees will be no more than $200 for dancers involved in one choreography group.  Dancers will be charged $36 for each additional choreography group they are involved in.  If dancers wish to compete, they must practice on their own.  Private competition consultation will be provided at a cost to the dance couple of $20 per 30 minutes if desired.  There are 3 competitions a year, January, June and October.  All competition fees are the dancers responsibility.

 

  Dancers are required to purchase their own shoes and costumes for all performances.  One pair of shoes required (about $45).  Costumes run about $50-$75** 

  Payments can be made up front or in 3 monthly installments.  All fees must be collected before dancers are allowed to perform/compete in the final show.

 

**Special attention will be given to keep cost down as much as possible.  Fund raising opportunities are available.

For High School and College Students

Red Fiddle Dance Teams

Dancers will spend 55 minutes a week working on technique, footwork and partnering involved in several ballroom dances. (Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Swing, Salsa, Cha Cha, Rumba…)

Dancers will choose a style and learn a choreographed group dance routine.  2 - 3 group dances will be available.  Dancers can be involved in as many as they choose.  Each dance group will practice 55 minutes per week. 

Fall Semester

Sept 15th - Dec 19th

Dancers will attend two 45 minute sessions a week working on exercises targeting strength, styling, stamina and flexibility.
